    What is upper blepharoplasty male?

Upper blepharoplasty male can correct eye bags, dark circles under the eyes and drooping eyelids. These give your face a tired appearance, making you look older than you really are. However, this procedure can also serve to soften facial expression and facial features, especially if combined with other surgeries such as a facelift, cheek augmentation or rhinoplasty.

How to prepare you for an upper blepharoplasty

In our culture we tend to look mainly into each other’s eyes. In fact, we can spend up to 80% of the time we talk to someone looking into their eye area. Aspects such as bags under the eyes or drooping eyelids can therefore define a face and give it a tired, morose or aggressive appearance. In the case of blepharoplasty, feminising your face involves giving the periocular area a more vital, fresher, smoother aspect.

When you visit your surgeon, you should inform them if you wear glasses or contact lenses. They will then assess your eye area (skin quality, excess fat, musculature and so on) as well as the proportions of your facial features so as to plan your surgery in a personalised way, choosing the best technique to attain the optimal results.

    Treatment

If blepharoplasty is performed on its own, it is usually performed with a local anaesthetic around the eyes accompanied by sedation to keep the patient calm during the procedure. If performed in conjunction with other facial feminization techniques, general anaesthesia may be used. The surgery usually lasts between one and two hours depending on the extent of the surgery and the individual.

Blepharoplasty male can be performed on the upper eyelids (because they have drooped over the eyes), the lower eyelids (mainly due to the accumulation of fat and loose skin), or both to fully rejuvenate your gaze. Blepharoplasty is performed by surgically removing eyelid fat and any excess skin from the eyelids. Not all fat should be removed so that the eyes do not become sunken. The goal is for a rejuvenating effect.

Furthermore, the surgeon may decide to relocate treated fat to areas around the eyes for a softer, fresher, more youthful appearance, always without altering your face’s expressiveness.

IM GENDER’s medical team can offer you a canthopexy at the same time. This is a simple surgical technique to correct the eye’s slant. It eliminates that sad, older-looking expression while giving your eyes more of an almond shape.

    Recovery

The post-operative period is painless. After five to seven days you will be able to lead a normal life. You may notice some discomfort – such as tightness around the eyes – after surgery, which your surgeon will soothe with painkillers if necessary.

Recovery is quick: within two or three days you will be able to read and watch TV, although you will not be able to wear contact lenses for a couple of weeks. Resting your eyes as much as you can is a great help for a good recovery.

    RISKS

Before surgery, the surgeon will explain to you the possible complications arising from blepharoplasty. The most common risks are: .

    • Bleeding.
    • Infection.
    • Swelling.
    • Hematoma.
    • Irritated eyes.

In rare cases it may cause temporary blurred vision or loss of vision.

    RESULTS

The results can be seen immediately, once any possible oedema or inflammation have subsided. When you look in the mirror you will see a more vital, younger, sweeter face, one that helps to feminise your features.

Usually the results of blepharoplasty last a lifetime. But it is important to follow some advice to maintain the health of your skin and the longevity of your results, like use sunscreen, stay nourished and hydrated.
